Cute Gift Idea

This is the super cute gift I gave to Coey's teachers. You take a soup can and open it through the bottom and leave the lid still attached. Clean it out and then fill it with goodies and seal the bottom with a hot glue gun. Remove the label, add some scrapbook paper and embellishments and VOILA! I filled these with chocolate covered pretzels and they turned out pretty cute If I do say so myself!

My New Craft

So I know I haven't posted in awhile but with Christmas fast approaching I have been doing tons of crafts to get ready for it. Not only are there gifts for certain loved ones but I also managed to squeeze in this super cute craft that will allow us to countdown to Santa's visit. I saw a countdown similar to this on the internet but decided to make a few changes. So hopefully this little post can tide you over until I can get back in the swing of things.

Morgie and Coeyster

This is Morgie.

She loves her mama and follows her everywhere, I mean everywhere. She loves to talk, dance and sing. Her favorite thing is to annoy her brother by walking in circles around him while he is watching t.v. She loves to be wherever Coey is and doing what he is doing. Her likes include: wearing shoes, reading books, anything Wall-E, baths, being outside, drawing on the doodle board, saying hi to people, chewing on Bryce's toothbrush, putting lotion on her hands, her bear and binkie, milk, cookies and animals.
This is Coeyster.

He likes include: playing with friends, legos, Lincoln Logs, riding his bike, anything Indiana Jones, staying the night with Grandma and Grandpa, playing with his cousins, chocolate milk, having super special snacks, cheese, smoothies, Wow Wow Wubbzy, the color pink, making people laugh, playing computer games, playing hide and seek, throwing tantrums, watching videos of himself, bowling, golfing and getting cookies at the "yellow" store.
I am so blessed to have these two amazing kids. Even though they constantly make me want to pull my hair out they are mine and I love them more than anyone ever could.

Booties and Blankets

A girl that I go to church with just had a baby girl and asked me to make a car seat canopy for her because she knew that I made them. It is a basically a blanket that attaches to the car seat handle so it won't fly away and you can lift up the bottom to sneak a peak a baby or keep them covered and not feel like you are suffocating them. After making the canopy I decided to make some little booties that match them. Making baby booties is my new little hobby. They are so cute and pretty fun too. I keep telling Bryce I am going to make him some for Christmas and let me tell you he is really excited, okay maybe not that excited but they are still cute. I will be trying out new designs so if they are cute I will be posting those too.

The Spooks Will Fly on Halloween

This Halloween was by far the funnest I have had in long time. Not only did I spend weeks working on perfecting the kids costumes, but we did a lot of fun stuff together as a family. The day before Halloween we went to my sil's work and walked around and got candy from different areas. Then on Halloween we went to Trunk or Treat at Grandma and Grandpa's church, where we totally scored on the candy. Then we came home and walked around to our closer neighbors houses and just had fun. Everyone loved the kids costumes and especially got a kick out of Morgan's squeaky shoes. Morgan didn't really understand what was going on but thought it was great to walk up to people and get candy. She learned to say Happy Halloween although it sound more like Ha Ha Haween. So cute though!

Carving Pumpkins

On Halloween afternoon we went outside to enjoy the nice weather and carve the pumpkins we got a few weeks before. Coey was really detailed at drawing his face, but unfortunately it was all too close together so we weren't able to make it exact. I went for a more traditional look while Bryce went for something more to his personality. See if you can guess which one is his.

Another Surgery for Me.

On Tuesday I had surgery on my hand to finally relieve the pain I have been having in my thumb for almost a year. The doctor went in and release the tendon sheath so the pressure would leave my nerves alone. I guess it is similar to carpal tunnel surgery. Anyways I am so glad my sil lives close by because she took awesome care of my kids while I was loopy and her husband made some yummy chicken wraps for us. My hand is feeling better, not as bruised but still definitely sore, especially when I over use it. I get my stitches out next Thursday. In the meantime I am grossing people out by walking around with the bloody tape still on and no dressing :o)

Pumpkin Walk

On Monday I took the kids to the Pumpkin Walk with my sil and bil. It was pretty cute to see how creative everyone can be when it comes to decorating their scenes. Below are just a few of my favorites. The best part about this...it's FREE!

Spooky Ooky Houses

This year for Halloween my mom sent us a gingerbread house to put together, or as Coey would say a Spooky Ooky House. Grandpa came over for dinner on the Sunday before Halloween so he helped us put it together for a little family project. Coey had such a blast despite the fact that Morgan kept eating the candy. It turned out pretty cute and he would seriously stare at it forever. When it first came in the mail he wanted to stare at the box constantly claiming he needed to read the directions.

Hats and Skirts and Ruffles, OH MY!

So this year I wanted to make the kids costumes, as usual and not have it be the same costume that someone else does. So I decided to do a witch for Morgie and Coey wanted to be a pirate. Although they are pretty generic characters I decided to make them myself so no one else would have it. I got the idea for Morgan's skirt from a tutorial on how to make ruffle tier dresses. I thought it would be pretty cute to use Halloween material to make the skirt so she could use it for her costume. I couldn't find a hat to go with it so I thought maybe I would make one with scraps I had. So after the purchase of a 48 cent posterboard here is the finished product. I usually don't brag about things I make because they usually aren't that brag worthy, don't believe me, well then you never saw the dead sock froggy. Anyways this hat took me about 3 hours to make but I think it was worth it. I just plugged in a movie and my glue gun and went to town. This is the finished product. I hope you think it's as cute as I do.
Not sure if you can tell but I also put little clear and purple gem stones on it to make it extra girly.
Notice the purple flower in the middle, well yes I did make that by hand. They are super duper easy.

I love this skirt and when I first had Morgan try it on she would not take it off. I had to let her wear it the rest of the day and hope she wouldn't get it dirty. The only thing I wish I had done differently was waiting until I bought black thread to make this. I got so excited to make it I had to use the cream color thread I already had.

Anyways I am so excited for Halloween this year for some reason. I can't wait for you to see the finished product and hopefully they will turn out as cute as I am imagining.

From Trash to Treasure?

Okay so I finished my little project. I am not quite sure what to think of it. It's cute and has a lot of style to it but I am not 100% sure it's my taste. Anyways for now I think I will keep it and eventually maybe redo it again, maybe this time in red. It's so hard to redo things when you have no idea what yours colors are going to be or if it will go right with stuff you already have. Anyways at least this project gave me a newfound respect for spray paint. We are now friends but got off to a rocky start. This has me going crazy now thinking of what else I can change. I guess I will just wait and see what kind of good deal I can get at D.I.

Best $100 I ever spent.

So yesterday Bryce mentioned to me that he found a great second car for us at a great price. His boss asked him if he knew anyone who needed a car and Bryce started asking questions. The car in question is this beauty below. It's a 1995 Toyota Corolla with 250,000 miles. There is a ding on the passenger door and the hood is kind of smashed. The interior is awesome though and it runs great. They lights didn't work so you couldn't drive it at night. I laughed when I saw this car but what the heck Bryce thought it was a good deal. The best part was his boss only wanted $100. That's right $100 for this beauty. I looked it up on kelly blue book and it's surprisingly worth around $2,000. We have been wondering what to do about a second car since the scooter has gone into hibernation for the winter. When Bryce got out of the car from driving it home the first words out of his mouth were "Best $100 I ever spent." He is going to do a couple of things to it to make sure it will run longer so hopefully it will give us a good year or two. So even though this car isn't the prettiest one I've ever seen I sure am proud to own it!

Embarrassing Confession

So I have a confession to make. I am a stalker. Not like a crazy I'm going to kill you stalker. But a blog stalker. There are some girls out there who I religiously read because they are so creative and have the cutest ideas. Well I have decided to venture out and become like them. They are, after all, my idols. Okay now that you know I am officially a geek I want to show you my first project. I bought these tables before me and Bryce were married when I thought I was going to get a place with my friend. Well they have been used and abused over the years by the kiddos so I decided I wanted to do something new and exciting with them. They are in great shape physically, just cosmetically they have some flaws. I have big plans for these so stay tuned to see what they end up looking like. Below is just one of them but they are identical, except I think the other one has more damage on top!

Amateur Photography

The other day when I got back home from taking Coey to school even though he wasn't supposed to go (oops!) I started thinking about what we could do for the day. I have a really nice camera and never really use it but always intend to. Anyways I decided take the kids to this park I love to see if the leaves had fallen off the trees yet. Every year it is INSANE at how many leaves there are. Well they hadn't fallen yet but I decided to take pics of the kids anyways since they were looking so cute. We went to a few places just so I could get a lot of different shots but many of the pics didn't turn out that well because they were looking in all different directions. These are my favorite of the bunch. I am still planning on going back to the park once the leaves had fallen because it's going to be too cute of an opportunity to pass up. Enjoy!

Pumpkin Picking

Every year we go to the same place to get our pumpkins. This year we did it for part of our family home evening. There is a little cabin not too far from our house and the guy that owns it sells pumpkins in the fall. He harvests them and then sets them out in his yard for you to come get. What I like most about this place is that the pumpkins are not expensive at all. We got four good size pumpkins for only $4.00. Also you can go there and get bails of hay and cornstocks for decorating. This guy is never there so you just take the pumpkins and leave the money. We plan on carving them for another FHE once it gets closer to Halloween. Anyways here are a few pics of the kiddos.
